Terms of Service

Welcome to Stoophood, a city-based community platform operated by Stoophood ("we", "us") from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. These Terms are governed by UAE law.
1. Definitions
- Stoop — a community within your city built around a shared origin, language, or culture (for example, the Turkish community in Dubai). Adding a country to your profile is optional; if you don't add one, you join your city's Open Stoop, which is open to everyone.
- Downtown — the city-wide open surface shared by everyone in your city.
- Keeper — a community moderator of a Stoop (can pin and manage community metadata); distinct from a platform Admin.
- Content — text, comments, reactions, media, events, and messages you post.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older; by registering you confirm this.
- Provide accurate information, keep one account per person, and keep your credentials secure.
- We may suspend or restrict accounts that breach these Terms, subject to the appeal process in §5.
3. Your content and the licence you grant
You own your Content. To operate the service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, display, and distribute your Content solely to provide and improve Stoophood (including content delivery and moderation). This licence ends when your Content is removed, except for copies retained for legal, backup, or safety purposes (see the Privacy Policy).
4. Prohibited content and conduct
No hate speech, harassment, threats or incitement to violence, spam, illegal content, doxxing, impersonation, or content that infringes others' rights. We may remove Content and act on accounts that breach this.
Zero tolerance. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You can report any Content and block any member directly in the app. We review reports within 24 hours; Content found to violate these Terms is removed, and offending accounts may be suspended or permanently banned. Where required, we report unlawful content or conduct to the relevant authorities.
5. Moderation and appeals
Content may be reported by users and reviewed by Keepers (within their Stoop) or platform Admins. We may hide or remove Content and suspend or ban accounts. To appeal a moderation decision, contact info@stoophood.com.
6. Intellectual property
The Stoophood name and platform are our property. If you believe Content on Stoophood infringes your rights, notify info@stoophood.com and we will review and act as appropriate.
7. Changes to the service and these Terms
We may add, change, or remove features and may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion starts a 30-day recovery window during which you can restore it. After deletion is finalized, your identity is removed from any remaining Content (it appears as "deleted user"); associated personal data is kept only as described in the Privacy Policy, then permanently deleted.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes are subject to the courts of Dubai, UAE.
